A new calendar has been posted on the Cumberland County website  regarding our school’s start date.  Please visit the CCS website to access the revised calendar.

Students first day of online instruction for the 2020-2021 school year will be July 9. We are working on a Virtual Open House for July 8 from 4 to 6 where students and parents will be able to sign on to Google Meet and meet their child’s teacher.

Information regarding classroom assignments will be sent home in a letter to let you know which classroom to sign into. Instructional day schedules will be shared in order for your child to participate virtually on a daily basis. When we receive additional information regarding laptop deployment, we will be sure to send out another ParentLink.

SIT stands for School Improvement Team. School Improvement Teams are required by North Carolina law to develop school improvement plans. These plans set goals and allow team members to collaborate on ways to achieve the goals and needs of the school. Our team is made of the principal, the assistant principal, instructional coaches, a teacher from each grade level, a teacher assistant, a school counselor, a school social worker, and parents of children enrolled in the school. The representatives are elected by their respective groups.

It is the intent of North Carolina that parents, along with teachers, have a substantial role in developing school improvement plans. School Improvement Teams are considered a public body and are subject to open meeting laws. We encourage you to join us for our SIT meetings.
